Meadowbrook Arabians (MAI) is a
family owned and operated horse farm located in Carrollton,
Georgia just forty minutes Southwest of Atlanta. MAI's humble
beginnings began in 1980 when Bob Lloyd made the decision to
breed a grade mare to an Arabian Stallion. From then on the herd
grew rapidly with the purchase of several purebred Arabian
mares. In 1986 MAI purchased our first stallion. The stallion
was a *Muscat son, NW Baghdad. Baghdad added strength and
correctness to our program.
|
The next step was to improve on our herd's
type. Bob, with the help of his two sons, Matthew and Greg
searched for nearly a year to find the perfect match. The
decision was made to narrow the search by looking for a Straight
Egyptian Stallion. Finally, we discovered the right horse. The
horse we purchased was later to be named Shahdal. At the time
this young colt was only six months old, but showed great
promise with his type and strength of body. Before long this
young stallion grew to be a large and exotic breeding sire.
Shahdal's get have amassed a total of seven Halter Top Five's
and two Top Ten's wins in three years at the Egyptian Event.
Included in these wins are the 1999 Breeder's Challenge Champion
Colt and two Reserve Champion Futurities (colt and filly).
|
| Our
plan for 2003 is to expand from halter and promote Shahdal's get
as performance prospects. Shahdal's get are blessed with size,
type and fluidity of motion. These characteristics have been
validated by the high scores bestowed on Shahdal's get at each
of the Egyptian Events attended. |
